The Big Art Show

Mayra loved to draw colorful pictures. She often drew flowers, animals, and sunny places.

One Friday, her class had an art show at school. It was the first time Mayra would share her painting with many people.

All morning, Mayra felt nervous. Her hands felt a little shaky as she carried her painting. She wondered if everyone would like her picture. When the doors opened, she stood quietly beside her artwork.

Soon, her best friend Ben came over and smiled. “Your painting is beautiful!” he said. Mayra smiled back, but she still felt a little worried. Ben stayed beside her to help her feel calm.

Then Mayra saw her teacher give her a thumbs-up. She took a deep breath and began talking about her painting. She told everyone how she mixed bright colors to make a rainbow sky. She also explained that the green field was her favorite part.
The visitors clapped when she finished.

Mayra felt proud of herself. She learned that being brave can help you do amazing things.
